Educator, Learner, Sister, Daughter, Friend, Writer, Musician.

Thank you for visiting my website!  My name is Stephanie Jablonski and I live in Grand Blanc, Michigan.  I graduated in 2008 from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, majoring in Language Arts.  I did my year of student teaching in a 4th grade classroom at Lewton Elementary School in Lansing, Michigan. I have been fortunate enough to come back to my hometown and teach, and I am currently in my 4th year of teaching 1st grade at Anderson Elementary in Grand Blanc.  I am nearing the end of my Master's in the Art of Education program at Michigan State University, where I have focused my study on K-12 Literacy.  I have enjoyed learning new strategies to teach my 1st graders in the areas of reading and writing, and growing as both a teacher and a learner!  As I near the end of this program, I hope to continue using what I have learned in my courses to help my students continue to enjoy learning in my classroom.

I am very lucky to live very close to my family and see them often.  My brother, Jonathan, and I are very close, and one of my favorite things to do together is watch scary movies (he is with me in my first photo).  I also enjoy spending my free time writing, playing the piano and finding new musical artists and groups.  Music has always been a very important part of my life, and it is a part of me that I enjoy sharing with my friends, family, and my students.  I grew up playing the saxophone in my high school jazz band and wind ensemble, and continued throughout college.

In the winter, I also enjoy attending Spartan Basketball games, and I look forward to this upcoming season!  I was a very committed member of the "Izzone" student section during my time at Michigan State.  Go green!

Thank you again for visiting my portfolio!  I hope that it gives you some insight into who I am as an educator, a student, and lifelong learner.

Enjoy!

Stephanie Jablonski
